The 2010 Bloody Big Swim

Overall Race Winner and First-Male-Over-the-Line for the 2010 Bloody Big Swim was John Van Wisse in a time of 2:18:27, while Jessica Silvester this year turned the tables on last year's winner Emera Galletly, and was the First Female-Over-the-Line in a time of 2:28:37.Emera came in second in a time of 2:40:11; second male was Peter Thompson in a time of 2:21:30.

This year saw the first time we had a No-Wetsuit category for our solos, and First Solo Female in this category was Yvonne Mooyman in a time of 3:29:56, while the First Solo Male, No-Wetsuit, was Oliver Wilkinson in 2:18:52.

First Duo's, and 6th Overall were Perfect Training Partners, Peter Bolton and Melinda Kemp in the time of 2:26:29, while the first Team, The This Won't Take Long Team of Erin Lowe, Marc Vellin, Stephen White and Scott Wilson, was 3rd Overall in a time of 2:21:32.

...and congratulations to EVERYONE who managed to complete the distance.

The 2009 Bloody Big Swim

A RECORD number of entries with over 100 boats, 100 paddlers and several hundred swimmers entered for the 2009 event. ...and near perfect conditions, lead to record times and an exceptional event.


 

First-Male-Over-the-Line for the 2009 Bloody Big Swim was Sam Sheppard in the record breaking time of 2:01:04, while 16 year old Emera Galletly was the First Female-Over-the-Line in a time of 2:29:26.

 

......second female was Jessica Silvester, just 16 seconds behind! Second male was last year's winner John Van Wisse in a time of 2:09:27.

Overall race winners were Team 2XU in the record time of 2:00:58, with the first Duo, Duo Blue 70 of Damien Angus and Mitch Anderson in a time of 2:22:43.
